I think instead of going for a Quad cpu ,you should drain some more money for your graphics card.I have come to know that quad cores only show minor performance gains over the fastest core 2 duo.So you can save at least 7-8 thousand by going for a E6300 and get a 8800GTX as 8600gt wont withstand the heavy load of incoming power hungry games at max /mid for so long .Plus be sure to get a SLI supported mob for future upgrades .One thing ,if you play at 1024into 768 in a 19inch your games wont look quite likeable, and if you crank up the res a single 8600Gt wont get the job done .Plus MSI has a better overclocked version of 8600Gt.You have to also use a good psu coz two HDD would impose some xtra demands on your psu .
    Names are pretty ,but useless.

Sayem get quad core, extreme edition. Dual or Quad SLI main board. It would be great if you could wait for INTELS SKULLTRAIl mainboards then you could use 2x Quad core CPUs & 4x PCI e's in dual SLi mode. Any way, Cut out the LCd to a FLAT 19" screen and use up the money in buying GF 8800GT or some thing equal. Plus get a PSU of 500W or do 2x 450W=900Ws that should be perfect.

think about it as we need some heavy powered PC's for benchmarking purpose in future Software/Games Reviews.

sayem what i suggest for you is :

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz 1366 FSB
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard with Intel P35 Bearlake Chipset
2×1 Giga Dual Channel DDR3 800 Mhz Ram [to match CPU FSB DDRII 667 bus ]
    320 Giga Sata 2 Harddisk
    19 Inch Samsung Lcd monitor
xFx Geforce 8800 GT Graphics Card
Built in 8 Channel Intel HD Audio
Creative 5.1 Multi Channel Surround sound speaker
    Asus DVD RW

i changed the processor and gfx card.
reason is what the hell will you do with 4 processors???
instead get a core2duo with higher (1333FSB) processor
NEXT BIG THING DONT BUY 8600 GT card tar tamon kisui nai. low - medium die tmr game khelte hobe!
instead 8800 GT is offering u a good thing in low price.
jehetu quad kinte chaiteso tai dhore nilam tomar budget er prob nai. tai MUST BUY 8800 GT.

    Re: Buying a new PC!

I prefer Quad core processor rather than a very powerful graphics card. You know, processor is the main thing of a pc. So the more faster processor u get, the more faster ur pc is! Theoretically, Quad is double faster than dual core. May be Quad cores show minor performance gain over the fastest core 2 duo, but what about future? All the games and applications gonna be multi threaded. Most of the todays games and application still not multi threaded, thats why not showing great performance improvement over a Quad core.
Ya, about gaming, there are lots of graphics card to choose rather than 8600 GT. But i have to think about budget too. Core 2 Quad and 19 inch lcd take half of the total budget. Still 8600 GT is a very good graphics card for gaming. Besides, there is Quad core to help the gaming to take into a new level of realism. And i m not interested about SLI or Crossfire. I also need to get a good power supply. May be I will look for a 550 watt power supply.
Total spending for the new pc, including Ups and other necessary things, is approximately 86K.

I do think Intel core 2 quad is more faster than Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz 1366 FSB and Quad core has a very stable overclocking capability. I have read some review about Q6600. Also these 1333 Mhz fsb core 2 duo penryn processors are not available at bd yet i guess. I am buying pc 2moro.
About, DDR3, my motherboard won't support ddr3. Yet, ddr3 is not worth buying.
8800 GT costs approx. 25K. Exceeding my budget.

NO worry, for benchmarking purpose, if needed, later will sell 8600 GT and buy a more powerful one.

Quad core is not at all double faster than core 2 duo.Its only a marketing policy adopted by intel to have their cpus sold. You can check the benchmarks if you want. And mind it ,a quad core is not gonna take your gaming experience to a new level of realism. All it will do is reduce the loading time and help frame rate by only a minimal level while a 8800Gtx will provide a significant boost over 8600gt while playing games.Quad core will help multitasking ,but i think there are very few cases when you play a game in windowed mode, encode a dvd,rip an audio cd ,work on photoshop at the same time and even if you do going for 4gb will make things smoother rather than a quad.Try to focus on the fact games are getting ram and GPu hungry day by day but its hunger for cpu is not skyrocketing aall and even if you have a p4,your gaming experience wont be dull if you have 2gigs of ram and a great gpu .My suggestion is that get a quad and sli enabled mob and wait while this quad thing becomes compulsory. And I think it will take a long time for that to happen as even now a core 2 duo is not compulsory for gaming ,but a fast gpu is .
    Names are pretty ,but useless.

im rolling on floor laughing by reading this topic.
r u dumb or something? (no offense)

get a Quad ONLY if you work with Video editing, game level designing or 3d designing.

of course you can get a quad for gaming, but that's AFTER getting the TOP gfx card.

    say, for example,
    quad + 8600GT = 50 fps in some game

    then,
    duo + 8800GTX = 150 fps in that game

if you buy this PC for gaming and if you have budget constrains, buy something like this:
    core 2 duo E6600
    8800GT
2x 1GB RAM (buy the one with high speed and low latency)
    2x 160GB HDD (use RAID 0)
any good motherboard (with HD Audio sound card built in) that'll support all these (no need for SLI)
    19" LCD is ok.
a GOOD BRAND PSU (500W or more) [for example, ThermalTake] [THIS IS A MUST]
    buy other things as necessary.

now, if you have spare money,
    buy another 2x 1GB ram.
then try 22" LCD if you can.

    go more money?
    NOW buy quad core.

    still have money?
go for a nForce SLI mobo and buy another 8800GT
