Need a bit of help regarding new pc

    Old specs:
    Intel Core i7 950
    Gigabyte X58A-UD7
    12GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz
    Corsair H70
    2x EVGA GTX480
    Corsair AX1200
    Silverstone TJ07

Nice, isn't it? I miss my PC!

The PC I'm using right now (belongs to my cousin):
    Intel Core i5 750
    Asus P7P55-EVO
    Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD6850
    4GB Transcend DDR3 1333MHz
    Stock Cooler
    Thermaltake 550W
    Deluxe case

Now I don't want to use this PC for too long, will get a new one very soon. I don't want to get the same things again, willing to move to SB or BD as soon as it is released. My cousin told that things aren't really available in here, can anyone please confirm?

    Things I currently have:
    M4 256GB
    Essence STX
    Sennheiser HD650

Here's what I'm planning to buy:
    Intel Core i7 2600K
    Gigabyte/Asus P67 board (UD7 preferred)
2x EVGA GTX580 (will add another later)
    16GB Vengeance
Corsair H100 (or a custom loop if available)
    AX1200 or Strider 1500W
TJ11, don't want to buy the old TJ07 (if I get a custom loop) or Phantom for its awesome looks (if I get the H100)
    2x WD Caviar Black 2TB 7200/64MB/SATAIII

Or I might get the 8-core Bulldozer if the performance is better than that of 2600k, will get a 990FX-UD7 then, and the rest other parts would be same.

So which one do you think would be better?

What you are planning to buy is of course cleaver. Your old and right now ones are great(ofc better than mine).
Go ahead and buy that one you are planning to. I wish I had something like that too..

well 1st of all Bro Don't Buy Gigabyte products from here I've got 2 faulty boards in 1 month...
2nd thing EVGA products are not available in BD & u cant expect to come out any time soon so go for Asus 580 GTX...
3rd thing...High performance Ram kit's Like Ripjaws or Vengeance isn't available too...there is no secondary solution for HP Memory modules so u might bring that from Canada....
4th Thing...may be you find Strider,Seasonic or any class A branded PSU here...
you can do things Like this...

    2600k CPU
    Asus Sabertooth P67TUF board.
RAM would suggest you to bring from out side
    GPU Asus GTX 580 x2...

& Don't go to SMART technology shop...they are cheaters....

The P67A-UD7 is better bro, and I don't find any sub-vendor other than EVGA reliable enough for GeForce cards. I have had bad experiences with Asus stuffs.

Well Arnab, I don't like speculating and we can't really be sure how well it will perform until its been released; but when AMD unveiled their Bulldozer earlier this year it didn't seem so be able to live up to the hype anymore. And things certainly didn't look much promising either when they compared the Bulldozer to the overclocking ability of Intel's Sandy Bridge Platform, let alone performance. I remember reading that the Bulldozer had problems even reaching the 4 GHz barrier, while SB easily clocks to 5GHz under water.

Even look at AMD's recent 6 Core Chip, which gets easily beaten by Intel's 4 Core i7's (920 / 930), its not about the cores but the architecture AMD is using. But since then AMD delayed the release and I am sure by now they have improved a lot and beefed up their Bulldozer. However, I still remain in the shadow, doubtful.

Nice, isn't it? I miss my PC!

The PC I'm using right now (belongs to my cousin):
    Intel Core i5 750
    Asus P7P55-EVO
    Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD6850
    4GB Transcend DDR3 1333MHz
    Stock Cooler
    Thermaltake 550W
    Deluxe case
Wonderful, thats a very nice build. You know, it looks like we both share very similar builds, I have mine with the i7 960, the EVGA x58 SLi, an Antec H20 620, a bit more ram and an extra 460 to run Physx with my 480 SLi But you know the best part about your build is the TJ07 !! Your cousins current build isn't too bad either, apart from the fact that its got that HD6850, only 4GB's of Ram and a stock cooler … but to be honest, overall its still a pretty decent build for things bought in BD. I like the plans of your current build too; but you are going to have a hard time getting all those parts, as I hear the BD computer market is still not that up to date. So you won’t find many high performance or expensive parts available there.

    Things I currently have:
    M4 256GB
    Essence STX
    Sennheiser HD650

Here's what I'm planning to buy:
    Intel Core i7 2600K
    Gigabyte/Asus P67 board (UD7 preferred)
2x EVGA GTX580 (will add another later)
    16GB Vengeance
Corsair H100 (or a custom loop if available)
    AX1200 or Strider 1500W
TJ11, don't want to buy the old TJ07 (if I get a custom loop) or Phantom for its awesome looks (if I get the H100)
    2x WD Caviar Black 2TB 7200/64MB/SATAIII
So..Here's my suggestion, I think you should try to get back on a x58 build instead, I know they are a bit expensive compared to the P67 builds, but its overall worth it.. one of the reasons I stick with mine since the 2600K based boards don't have very good multi GPU support. I would say since you are planning to stay for a year or more.. if you can, then grab a i7 920 D0 / or i7 930 and a ASUS P6T and then overclock it.

But if you still want to try out the Sandy Bridge Platform with the 2600K, then here’s my thoughts on your list..

    Intel i7 2600K -
(Not sure if these chips are sold in BD but the 2600K is a very good choice, That is exactly what I would also get if I was to move to SB! But if its only for games and you want to save a few bucks. I think you are better off getting the 2500K, thats more than enough for your games.)

    Asus P8P67 -
(The p8p67 is the most popular H67 board in the world, I am sure the gigabyte Ultra Durable Series is good too; but have had plenty of bad experience with Gigabyte Products in the last few years, I also have a couple of stores here and most faulty graphics and motherboard we get are from Gigabyte. Also recently Arnab here had some real bad experience with two GB boards within a month..So if you take my advice..try to get something from ASUS instead..)

    2x ASUS or MSI GTX580’s -
(Good Setup but those 580’s don’t scale that well, and you are not on a x58 build, so more than 2 Graphics card and you’ll get some performance hits without the NF200 chip that’s on the EVGA boards, and won’t get EVGA in BD. So on a P67 build think twice before you want to add a 3rd card. I like having multiple graphics cards; I have 2 480’s in SLi myself, reason I added a 460 for Physx instead of a 480 as the third card is simply because there should be a line..of.. just how much is too much?)

    4x4GB = 16GB of Team Group RAM
(I use 24GB’s of G.Skill RipJaws myself and would’ve suggested you go with G.Skill over Corsair, but the fact is that you probably won’t find either one in BD. However there is another brand called “Team Group” in BD. They are mainly targeting the Asia market first so you wont see them in EU or NA market. I have heard a lot of good things about them too, so you could try that.)

    Antec KÜHLER H20 620 or KÜHLER 930 -
(I like closed loop coolers as much the next guy but let’s face it, neither Antec or Corsair manufacture these coolers; they are manufactured by either Astek or Coolit, the later being known for being somewhat crappy. So there is no reason to show your brand loyalty .Fact is, up until now, all of Corsair’s Hydro series coolers, eg. The H50, H70 were made by AsTek; Corsair only recently partnered with CoolIT when Astek started making their 3rd gen closed loop coolers and partnered with Antec. The Antec H20 620 is actually a better performer than the H70 with a single fan, while costing a lot less! And the 930 is so good that with its single 120mm Rad, not only it takes less space but it keeps up with the 240 Rad H100. So don’t get the Corsair, the Antec is better. BTW: I have heard 2600K’s can hit over 4Ghz with the stock cooler, So you could just grab a decent air cooler and be done with it.....
here's a little look into the Antec KÜHLER H2O - >>> Antec KÜHLER H₂O 620 CPU Water Cooler [My Review])

    850W - 1000W Silverstone Strider PSU -
(On that setup I reckon you just need a decent 800 – 1000W PSU, maybe 1200 at best. No where near 1500W’s. Silverstone Striders are the real deal though, I also like Corsair and also had a TX850 that died last year, just not as strong as the Silverstone stuff I guess. Anyhow Again, you might have a hard time finding a Silverstone or a Corsair..so you are stuck with crappy Thermaltake or Gigabyte PSU’s.)

TJ11, HAF or any Big Decent Case –
(I hear the Coolermaster HAF is available in BD, So try looking into that. Don’t get me wrong, I love Silverstone products and I love the TJ series, even though they are considered a little bit expensive compared to the rest of the market, Silverstone still makes very elegant and quality cases. But I’m afraid you wont find them in BD and end up with only Thermaltake again on the case department. So maybe just get whatever has the most expansion slots and space, brand or non brand. )

    2x WD Caviar Black 2TB 7200/64MB/SATAIII
(I would suggest getting Samsung HDD’s instead. Most of the WD products seem to fail on me.)

Don’t play the waiting game, by the time AMD has their bulldozer out (late this year) Intel will have their Ivy Bridge ready and out by early next year. And even though I hear AMD has started to beef up their bulldozer for higher clock’s, I doubt it will do much good.

PS: I have plenty of Worklogs, Guides and Short Teardown Reviews on the hardware, overclocking, and modding sections..have a look there..might come in handy before you buy your PC...

Thanks a lot for the huge post bro

Today I had a chat with a dude who has a good idea about the local computer markets. According to him, UD7 isn't available; I might find a 2600k if I'm lucky, and the price would be around Tk.31,000; no RAM modules except Transcend, Team (the one you talked about), and some other not-so-popular brands (well they might be popular in here); Gigabyte and MSI 580s are available but I don't really want to go for either one of these; no cooler available right now (wtf?); best cases available are Tt Level 10 GT and Spedo Advanced (pure bs); only PSUs available are Tt/XFX/Gigabyte; Samsung 2TBs are 5400rpm drives.

Now I think I should wait for SB-E or IB, not expecting better performance from BD; and my older bro will come to Dhaka in December so if either of SB-E or IB get released within December, I'll get the best one for sure. And btw, the UD7 s capable of doing 16x16x SLi, so won't be a problem if I get two 580s, and if I even add another one, it will run at 8x which I don't think would cause much of a problem. The reason I don't want to go for the X58 platform is because you know, the SB-e is gonna hit the shelves very soon, and that I have used my previous rig for more than a year with some upgrades, so the whole thing would not be much of an upgrade for me. My cousin has given me the permission to use his PC whenever I want as he is always out of home and uses his lappy when he needs it.

Anyway, thanks again for your time and the huge post, and I'll let you know if I think of something else. And I'm in deep shit now :/
