Maximum Internet Connection in your area?

I use Grameen Cybernet. Speed is horrible at daytime (32 KBPS), but download speed is average 3-5 kbps.
At night till early morning it's 128 kbps, rises upto 16-18 KBPS.
Planning to get 256 kbps soon to get 32 kbps.
    What about yours?
Best if upload a screenshot of speed (which I cant ).

re: Maximum Internet Connection in your area?

I use GrameenPhone Edge Internet by connecting Nokia N70 to the Pc. It's speed is pretty good, average download speed is 15-20 kb/s.
By the way, is not this thread should be posted under category like Chit Chat / Opentopic rather than under General Gaming Discussion?

It's upto you. That is why I asked you to unleash a nu section called "Technology". Didnt you read that PM?
Besides, as Ghost as previously told me, I also think it would be better if a section is dedicated only for GFX.

Pathetic speed. Non EDGE means GPRS? Right? What about the other users that use the broadband cable lines? Comeon guys.

There is a Feedback section in the forum. That is the place where one should post his/her feedback, suggestion etc about the forum.

re: Maximum Internet Connection in your area?

One of my uncles work in citycell. So i am using their Zoom connection without any Data limit .However i have to pay a little charge of 500tk/per month. The speed is terribly fast ,no matter day or night .I have even noticed 300kilo bit per second occasionally .If citycell launches a unlimited data package for all of its users ,it will be a whole lot better than GP.GP is getting slow day by day .

Hey guys, Am I eligible for this servay ?

Guess so I use ADSL Router and my internet connection is from World-Net (http://www.WorldNet.co.nz), I am on a very cheap full speed plan but reckon i have never reached the limits, I have 4 PC's at Home and at busy hrs my slowest download speeds are below 600KBPS, Uploads reach from 150KBPS, at peek hrs it can be up to 2-3MBPS or greater ... and all I have to pay is $45

Its 300Kbps(kilo bit per second), not 300KBPS(kilo byte per second). The maximum speed is 300 kilo bit per second but its very rare ,only when traffic is very low .The average speed is 120-150 kilo bit which means 15-16kilo byte in an average. At night it sometimes cranks up to 20-25 kilo byte per second .There are two different modems available .One is called PCMCIA ,which is only for laptop and another is USB modem which is compatible with both laptop and desktop. However the drawback is, general users are given a maximum Data limit of 3gb per month for 1500tk which is very unreasonable for hardcore downloaders.

re: Maximum Internet Connection in your area?

I won't comment on Sirius in general, just from my point of view- THEY SUCK

I've been using Wwintel's(one of the network distributors- they're the ones assigned for the greenroad area) line for 3 or 4 months. I got 30kbps at max for just 2 or 3 days. Then, the speed "increased" to 8 kbps. Fine with me, but what I can't tolerate is that from last month, I'm continuously losing connection with whatever server I download from(I use IDM 5.11 and when I lose connection, the speed drops to 0bytes/sec and in the area where it shows the download parts, it says "Send GET").

50kb/sec is extremely good. 500mb per day is alright. But the question is, how do I get that speed? It's not my fault that I live in Greenroad and have no choice other than using Wwintel.

I've told them to take their line back. I've bought a Mobidata GPRS modem and I'll be using teletalk from now on(we have a teletalk tower on the roof of our apartment ). When I connect, it says "connected at 115kbps" but I'm not getting good speeds currently, thanks to the submarine cable disaster. So, any Teletalk user here? Will i really get 115kbps bandwidth after the cable is fixed? I'm perfectly happy with 11.5 kbps download speed if that's what I get.

That's the problem I used to get with ZIP and am still getting now(although the submarine cable is cut now, it wasn't cut 2 months back )
