For whatever reason you may want to remove your Intel / AMD CPU(Processor).. Replacing it, Cleaning it(?), Installing a New Cooler, Or Just get to know computers.. Its one of the most easiest process after removing your memory.
All you do is remove the heatsink, and then then you pull the appropriate leaver and the cpu is out. its a 2 min process at most.
Below let me put up a selection of Videos for removal of most CPU's, be it Socket 370, Socket 1, Socket 462, Socket 478, Socket 754Socket LGA 775, 939, Socket 1156, or Socket 1366 and so on..
Remember, if you dont have thermal paste, then dont try cleaning the cpu surface and the heat sink surface after removal. And dont remove the cpu unless you really want or have to.![]()
Intel P4, Older Intel CPU's Use 478
Intel Core, LGA 775
AMD's are easier, Older ones specially just a retention bracket pin, that you carefully remove using a Flathead screwdriver.
