installment of the popular Command & Conquer franchise currently under development by EA Los Angeles exclusively for Microsoft Windows and is set for release March 16, 2010. It will constitute the final chapter in the Tiberium saga. A cinematic trailer for the game was released on July 24, 2009 with many more details revealed in magazines which featured extensive cover stories on the game.In addition, Command & Conquer 4 will require the player to be online at all times regardless of whether the player is playing single-player campaigns or skirmishes or online play, however EA is currently considering whether to create an offline mode for players to play the Campaign offline.Command & Conquer 4 will also utilize EA's own servers for online play, rather than Gamespy Servers which EA has relied on for Command & Conquer games in the past.A closed beta of the game was officially released to contest winners by EA on November 21, 2009.

    Gameplay
Tiberian Twilight gameplay no longer requires the player to gather resources to build an army, unlike past C&C games, nor to destroy all enemy forces. In the main game mode of C&C4, the player will have to capture control nodes that are scattered across a map and hold more nodes than the enemy long enough to gain enough points to win the match. It will also differ greatly from many past games in the series, removing many past traditional elements and replacing them with elements from more recent and popular RTS games such as Dawn of War II such as a new bottom interface and a new upgrade-oriented resource gathering system, as well as minimal base construction and management. Unlike in Tiberium Wars, it will feature class-based gameplay as well as some RPG elements. There will also be no naval warfare in Tiberian Twilight, as was the case with previous C&C games in the Tiberium universe, and as opposed to games in the Red Alert universe who have always featured naval units in one way or another.
The game's current alpha interface is more similar to the "bottom bar" of Command & Conquer: Generals rather than the traditional "Sidebar" which has been a staple feature in most previous Command & Conquer games. The game's interface, like Generals, seems to be inspired by the interface from the Age of Empires Series or StarCraft series rather than the original sidebar which had been used in the more recent Command & Conquer games Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3.In addition the game will remove another traditional method of resource gathering which is to build refineries which will in turn send out harvesters to mine Tiberium, the game's main resource, at Tiberium Fields and instead opt to make the player constructing rigs at predetermined locations which would harvest Tiberium from the core network and then constantly produce resources till destroyed much like oil derricks in previous games.Tiberium Crystals like in previous games will still be present in the field as "eye-candy", but will not be usable in any way. Yet another difference from the traditional C&C games is the presence of a population cap something which is present in many other RTS but was only featured in the Xbox 360 version of Command and Conquer.

    Playable Factions
There will be only two playable factions, down from the three in Tiberium Wars: The GDI and the NOD, both staples of the Tiberian series. Each faction will be split into three upgradeable classes: offense, defense and support. Each class will have its own specialized focus but will all be equally competent in battles. The classes would consist of mostly their own unique units with the only shared unit among classes being the engineer, and will each consist of a unique set of units, structures, powers and upgrades which will form a full faction. The Offense Class is focused on tank-based, front-line combat like a classic faction in previous Command & Conquer games. The Defense Class is focused on infantry-based combat as well as strong base defenses such as bunkers and turrets, they are also the only class to have access to superweapons. While the Support Class is focused on air-combat and custom vehicles to traverse the environment, and the Support Class is also equipped with special powers which are used to assist teammates.

    Non-Playable Factions
Tiberian Twilight will feature two non-playable factions which return from previous games in the Tiberium Universe: The Scrin (Tiberium Wars) and the Forgotten (Tiberian Sun). The latter were confirmed in the August edition of the PC Powerplay gaming magazine, which featured a cover story on Tiberian Twilight. It was revealed that The Forgotten, who were excluded from Tiberium Wars (but present as controllable units as the Mutants), would return as a minor part of the story as well as a neutral class on the map whom you can either battle against or ally with like the Mutants in Tiberium Wars. The Scrin will not be playable, and unlike in Tiberium Wars, their story will not be continued from their perspective like in the extra Scrin Campaign in Tiberium Wars.

    [center:34cbi9si]Campaigns[/center:34cbi9si]
Tiberian Twilight will feature a cooperative campaign mode like Red Alert 3, which will allow multi-class play and integrated player progression. Each faction will feature its own unique and diverse campaign with in depth story-telling about the Tiberium Universe and would finally bring an end to the Tiberium Saga. It is currently unknown if Tiberian Twilight also will feature a separate single-player campaign mode or just adding in a 'co-commander' during the co-op campaign like Red Alert 3 did to substitute the second player. The difficulty in co-op mode campaign will vary depending on the player's level, also objectives will vary from class to class, however they are shared in co-op.
The GDI Campaign has been titled "The men who killed Kane" while the Nod Campaign's title is "Everything has its end". The game will feature a linear campaign like in Tiberium Wars with both campaigns for both factions taking place simultaneously. The 'good guy' image of GDI will be desecrated as the player progress along the Nod Campaign. The GDI campaign is more action-oriented, while the Nod campaign places the player as one of Kane's Inner Circle members. In the Nod campaign, the protagonist will discover Kane's true motives and goals.

    Units
Tiberian Twilight will feature a total of about 90 units, including many new units as well as updated versions of previous classic Command & Conquer units. Classic units which will receive a makeover include the Nod Scorpion, Stealth and Flame Tanks, Raider Buggies, Attack Bikes, GDI units like the Mammoth Tank, Titan, Orca, Juggernaut and the iconic Mammoth Mk. II Walker which returns as the Mastodon. The GDI will utilize mainly walkers and powered armor infantry for its army while Nod will mainly make use of cyborgs and treaded vehicles instead. Engineers also return and are now able to repair vehicles.
The most notable of the new units is the Crawler, a class-specific unit. It is an all-in-one mobile base which acts as both the traditional base inclusive of a Construction Yard, unit production facility, support powers and upgrades all packed into one, as well as a powerful front-line combat unit. The Crawler is one of the most flexible units in Tiberian Twilight, as it has everything in one place without the need to build a traditional base, although defense crawlers can build defensive and support structures such as shield generators, defensive turrets and even the Ion Cannon and the Temple of Nod.The crawler can also be replaced, though not instantly, if lost in battle and the Support Class' Crawler can fly. Players will be able to select an area where the new Crawler will spawn, which will destroy any enemy units in the immediate vicinity.Crawlers are also able to hold 5 units that they've built while moving, though they will be released when the Crawler deploys into its structure mode.Crawlers can also be upgraded with new weapons and features, however these upgrades will not be carried into later missions.
Units will also be upgradable, a key feature that was missing in Red Alert 3 but was present in Generals and Tiberium Wars.

    Synopsis
Tiberian Twilight is the final game in the Tiberium Universe to feature Kane. It will have a sterner and more mature tone compared to previous games in the series. The prologue to the game takes place in the year 2062, 15 years after the events of Tiberium Wars which led to the invasion and defeat of the Scrin, and 10 years after the final events of Kane's Wrath, where the prophet regained possession of the Tacitus. During this time period, Tiberium has spread all across Earth and is still spreading at such a rate that the whole planet is expected to become uninhabitable by 2068. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. At this time of crisis, the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, Kane, heads straight for the headquarters of the Global Defense Initiative,in hopes, with the Tacitus, of forming a "Tiberium Control Network", which would allow the spread of Tiberium to be controlled, as well as turn it into an inexpensive power source. The campaign itself starts 15 years after the formation of the alliance between the two factions, as the Tiberium Control Network is nearing completion. However, extremists from both factions cause unrest, which sparks the Fourth Tiberium War and puts an end to the alliance.Tiberian Twilight will complete Kane's story, revealing his identity and motives. The Tiberium Universe may continue beyond C&C4, though C&C4 will end the Kane story arc.

    Cast
Tiberian Twilight will return to the Command & Conquer series' iconic format of using live-action full-motion videos in cut scenes, featuring an all-star cast together with some computer-generated imagery, such as the Scrin invasion in Tiberium Wars. Currently only the return of Joe Kucan as Kane, leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, has been confirmed.James Horan was also later confirmed to be part of the cast of the game, but as of yet nameless supervisor.
